Introduction to RFMFOI

The Roller Flour Millers' Federation of India (RFMFOI) is the leading authority representing the organised sector of India's flour milling industry. Founded in 1940, it serves over 2,000 millers nationwide; through 16 affiliated State Flour Mill Associations; acting as a unified voice for the industry. The Federation advocates for its members' interests to both Central and state governments, maintaining its role as an influential body in India's wheat and wheat miling sector.

The RFMFOI plays a critical role in processing approximately 33% of India's wheat into essential products like Atta, Maida, Sooji, and Wheat Bran; which are vital for the food requirements of millions and as raw materials for the bakery and confectionery sectors.

Objectives

Help industry employ technology in all aspects to be better prepared for the future

Facilitate export of Wheat Products and import of Wheat (when government policy permits)

Learning & Training

Focus on organising learning events for members and impart training to employees

Policy Advocacy

Engage with government bodies to protect member interests and align with Nations' interests

Help members recover outstanding debts through intervention of Debt Recovery Committee

Build Future Leaders

Work with research and training institutions like CFTRI Mysore and help setup a new institute in Lucknow

Newsletter

The Federation addresses key policy issues and concerns related to the wheat milling industry, engaging with the government and relevant organizations. In addition, since its incorporation in 1940, it has published a bi-monthly magazine titled “Indian Miller.” This flagship publication is distributed to government agencies, professionals in the roller flour milling sector, and respected research institutions in the food grain industry, such as CFTRI and IIWBR in Karnal.
